Next Time You See Me

Next time you see me, I may look the same

The same short blonde hair framing a pale face

The same bright blue eyes behind the same lenses

But don’t be fooled

Next time you see me, things will be different

I will have seen things, learned things

I will have grown, and gained perspective on the world

But don’t be fooled

Next time you see me, I will still be me

Simply a newer, more experienced version of myself

One with a greater ability to understand

But don’t be fooled

Next time you see me, you won’t be you either
