New Years again

Location

The taste of alcohol on his lips,
With nothing gained, nothing is lost,
The marks of a night spent together,
To part ways again when morning breaks,
Thoughts do love to wonder,
In the midst of a moment,
No other intent to ponder,
No questions asked but all is answered,
Just another notch in the preverbal bedpost,
Yet to be cared for again,
Not to be forgotten,
To share more than a moment,
To share more than a night,
If nothing shall come of it,
Perhaps all is well,
But if ever something may,
I’ll never take it for granted again.
