My Universe

Fri, 06/03/2016 - 23:45 -- Bravo

Sometimes when i look in your eye's I see the solar system

other times when i look in your eye's it's like your soul is missing

like night and day

you want me than you're so dismissive

now i know why the caged bird sings because i chose to listen

as she flutters and flaps she's safe from the gutters and traps

perhaps, there's a reason to be afraid of the cage

she sings as she fights for her freedom in rage, to take flight

to be a distance in sight is a dream that is dreamt often

don't get lost in pursuit

when you aim for the stars hold your breath when you shoot

word to the wise, you'll see love is aquatinted with cries

sometimes the love is pure sometimes it's tainted with lies

sometimes,

I tend to gaze at the stars in your eye's, the vastness surpasses the universe

I'm surprised that the dark matter in your eye's called your pupils are so fascinating

we saw each other, we locked eye's I was captivated

I saw the pain past the facade that you were masquerading

tell me I'm over analyzing over exaggerating

tell me I'm dumb to fly too close to the sun

tell me the shooting stars in your eye's are nothing I can wish on

tell me your milky way skin is nothing I can kiss on

it's been so long since I've looked at the moon and gazed upon it's beauty

because I've found more beauty in you.
