My Mind Is Enough.
Location
As Isaac Asimov says, "Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in."
So as a young woman - a BLACK young woman at that - am I only able to seek a higher education because of a basketball or track scholarship?
Is it deemed inconceivable that the very essence of MY MIND can vault me to higher levels of success without touching any sports equipment?
Is it thought that I cannot form a complete sentence with the proper usage of prepositions, conjunctions, and punctuation marks because society is still not comfortable with the rapidly increasing minority becoming successful?
Am I supposed to accept the educational setbacks that were forced on my people way before the Jim Crowe laws, as well as the stereotypes that are now, and always have been, exploited for the entertainment of someone else while negatively impacting my race as a whole, confining the minority of my people who are screaming to be released from these biased shackles to a lifetime of judgment based solely on SKIN COLOR and not the CONTENT contained, analyzed, and debated in our brains that is taken for granted?
I think you have a smudge on your window, you might want to clean it off
