My Creators

Without my parents, I wouldn’t be here,

That’s obvious, but I mean something else.

If they didn’t come here from over there,

I wouldn’t be able to acquire wealth.

They didn’t know English, but they knew pieces,

They had no friends, but they tried to make more.

They didn’t have money, and they got creases.

They were alone, all so that I could soar.

Because of them, I go to school and thrive.

Because of them, I make friends all around.

Because of them, I am well and alive,

Because of them, I don two flags; I’m proud.

I go to school not just to get a job,

I want to make them so happy they sob.
