Whole room grew quiet as your mother cried.
"He's been killed," they said, "execution style."
She'd just found out her first-born son had died,
Crime scene so gruesome and bloody and vile.
Hearts broke several times when this news was brought.
Who'll father your two young boys since you're gone?
Never forgetting the lessons you taught,
Though your life's ended, your memory lives on.
Late nights lain awake, just thinking of you
You're my hero; taught me to do what's right
So lost and confused, don't know what to do
Trying to stay strong, through tears we must fight.
Still hear your voice, so strong, yet soft spoken
Our spirits may bend, but are never broken.
