Loss
A final exhale staggered through pained lungs, As the heart gave in to its demise, Dark orbs glazed over, And screams haunted the darkness, While cries of agony filled the night, A dreadful symphony, A nightmarish harmony, A twisted chord, The voices rang and rang, Like bells on a wedding day, Like bells on a funeral, The smell of lifelessness, The smell of death, It reeked and reeked, And the shards were scattered like dust, Like the ashes left behind, A horrible reminder, Broken dreams, Shattered hearts, Crushed souls, A terrible reminder, indeed
