A Lone Wolf

Lone Wolf

Wandering among a forest of pines

And through the chilling snow

Trying to find a place of warmth

Where paws won’t freeze

And heart will glow.

The journey is long

And treacherous

And far

But wouldn’t seem so bad

If someone was by their side.

Just the presence of someone, something

To make the journey exciting

And less sad

And more meaningful

Like the brightest star.

Like a lone wolf

Travelling alone and finding its way

Is like me trying to find you

Among a forest of pines

In the dead of night.
