Little Robin
Waking up in the morning
Gazing at the room’s blank design
Look out at neighbors
Their happy behaviors
Their hearts are soaring
But their not mine
There’s a shadow in my head
I see his claws
By my bed
He hates my tastes
Tells people they’re a disgrace
Makes ‘em blurred in the face
I’m yearning to chase the sky
But I just whisper “hi”
Instead
“Little Robin”
He calls me
“Little Robin
Won’t you face me
Embrace me
Reach out your hand
I can make it all better
In the end”
Gray skies cross over the city streets
Glance at strangers
Waving at each other
But they all wonder
“Does she lie, does he cheat, what do they mean?”
Everybody’s blurred in the face
In this city
“Little Robin”
He calls me
“Little Robin
Why chirp and sing
When you can clip your wings
And stay on the ground
With me you will be
Safe and sound”
“Little Robin”
He calls me
“Little Robin
Won’t you chase me
Embrace me
Reach out your hand
I can make you all better
In the end”
