Life of a Snowflake

Location

Freefalling

A tiny white crystal of ice

Descending from heaven

A precious gift

Glittering in the light

Falling, sparkling, beautiful

In its own right

A masterpiece unto itself

Until it hits the ground

And is swallowed

By a sea of other snowflakes

Anonymous

The snowflake is forgotten

Trampled underfoot with all its peers

The sun melts it away

Unseen and unremembered
