The Life of an Artist

Location

The First job I ever wanted was to be an Artist,

Ever since I held my first pencil,

Yet, social pressures crept into my head

And I never realized my potential.

From day to day I would think in my head,

"Who am I really? What should I do?",

Yet I can't test very well,

Maybe I should work at the zoo.

As I sat during school with

My sketch book and paper,

I stopped lying to myself,

I know that I'm a different flavor.

I realized that monetary values

Really shouldn't matter,

I should be happy with what I do,

Who should I have to flatter?

Being an Artist will change my life,

Art is a part of me I shouldn't forfeit,

To me, color, pattern, texture and

Expression are truly important.
