Letter to My Bone Disease
Dear, Osteogenesis Impefecta
All my life, you break me
You crack, shatter, compund, and fracture my life.
I hated you, hours of surgery, years of hurt, a lifetime of scars.
Then, you changed me
For the better
I gained a new perspective.
Yes you hurt me, but you give me strength
Strength to overcome, to adapt,
I think now, about those who have it worse than me,
Those with cancer, leukemia, AIDS, multiple sclerosis
I am thankful
It could always be worse
I am thankful
Thankful for my life, for my health
Though it may be hard, I will Overcome.
