Last Night

Mon, 09/04/2017 - 22:26 -- Shelene

Last night I dreamt of you, we were just like we used to be.

We we're watching the moon cover the sun, we had felt so free.

You held my hand and squeezed it so tight.

I knew in that moment that everything would be alright.

Do you remember when we used to laugh together?

When we roamed the streets, just you and me?

I wish you would open up and tell me why you chose to leave.

I was the happiest I'd ever been, all those years ago.

And when you made your final choice, we had at last lost our glow.

I often wonder if we could talk, of what you would say.

But don't worry, I forgive you at the end of the day.

You will always remind me of how happy you made me, I want you to know this.

And I'm thankful for last night's dream, because it gave me one last kiss.
