Just Like You
I go walking down the street in my local town, just like you.
I catch the same bus to go to work everyday, just like you.
I browse some shops and buy food to provide for myself, just like you.
I visit my family as often as I can to check that they are okay, just like you.
In my spare time I relax and listen to my favourite music, just like you.
I have my friends over at my house for a game night, just like you.
I have relationships that last for years sometimes, just like you.
I feel happiness, sadness, anger and stress, just like you.
When people walk past me, they think I am a normal girl.
They don't mind if they accidently brush into me.
They don't say a single word to me because I'm not effecting them.
To them, I am just another stranger in the street.
However, if they knew me better, if they knew my identity.
Suddenly I am no longer just like them, just like you.
They walk past me and drip poison into my ears.
"Loser" "Bitch" "Vermin" "Freak".
They accidently brush into me and "I've given them a disease".
They see me outside and they cross the street to avoid me.
They found out my gender and suddenly I am "inhumane".
They found out my gender and suddenly I am no longer "normal".
I am neither girl nor boy and that somehow effects people just like you.
I was born into the wrong body and now strangers can't look at me.
Some will say "It's just a phase", a phase which lasts a lifetime.
In this world I am seen as a sinner by people who are just like you.
In this life of mine I have learnt at least one thing.
I will always come across idiots, who don't like my gender, just like you.
Now it's time for you to grow up and learn your own lesson.
I am not changing for anyone, whether you like it or not.
PS...I would much rather be me instead of someone just like you.
