ivory shoals

Gliding across the sea,

Gazing up to the heavens

This is all I see

The final resting place

Sinking into the ivory lace

The shoals, the stepping stones

Call to me.

Guide my soul to you, to

My final resting pace, and

Lull me tenderly to sleep

There beneath the darkest deep

Kiss my eyes, at peace

Lay my weary heart to rest, and feast

Upon the moth-eaten memories

And pie-crust promises

Bring your ivory shoals

Ever closer to me

Carry my soul home at last

The light on the water glistens

For all who have seen must know

That through this light

All souls pass.
