It Taunts Me

As I sit here,
Pondering.                     Wondering.
Will I ever be good enough?
I try, And try,
Always struck down in my glory.
In the corner I sulk,
|| Caged. Trapped. ||
Never to walk,
never to feel.
~ No breeze to feel upon my skin. ~
No sunlight carefully lit upon my face.
The warmth is gone.
All I ever see is the          cold,
Shuddering,        shadowing abyss.
It taunts me, it laughs.
I run            and run,
I run with all my might.
But everywhere,
Every turn,
It taunts me.
The cold, dark hands,
They try to hold me.
I run...
Yet never escape.
It's there.
Further, and further,
It strikes me D
Will I ever be free?
When I die
For it is when I can't run,
I can't hide.
When the darkness consumes me,
Is when I'll be free.
As it slowly sets in,
As the darkness consumes me.
I see the light,
And all it possesses.
__I reach,
But bare no touch,
I scream,
No sound.
I drown. __
(( It taunts me, it laughs. ))
I shed tears
For I know it is my last.
I see the light.
But it doesn't see me.
Instead it (( laughs )) as I breathe my
Last breath,
Studder my last sound.
Last touch, last smell.
I see the light,
For it is my last glare.
Nothing is all that's left,
Even the life,
Is gone.
-.It taunts me, it laughs.-
And yet even in my sorrows...
I bare nothing.
It taunts me.
I am not free.
And I realize,
I never will be.
