I'm a mess
My heart started racing when his name popped up on my phone’s screen.
I flash back to the many nightmares of him hunting me.
I'm caught in a state of fear, attempting to read his mind,
figure out why he’s calling.
Soon I find myself feeling only a weight in my chest and nothing else.
Normally I’d try to fight it,
but today I can’t muster the strength to get out of my bed.
The weight pulls me under and drowns me in my own consciousness.
I feel a heat behind my eyes as tears begin to fall,
and I fade to sleep to escape the ache pressing against my chest.
Just go away Dad.
