If Only I Could

If I could, my eyes wouldn’t blink so fast.

My oh so lonely heart wouldn’t feel so smothered.

I wouldn’t want for any second to pass.

If I could, I would look you in the eye.

I would take your oh so lonely heart

And I would spread my love with a butter knife.

If I could, I wouldn’t look at you so strange

I wouldn’t stare at  my feet for so long

I wouldn’t be bathing in so much pain

If I could, I would definitely laugh with you

Crack a few lame corny jokes with you

Maybe I would even tell you a story or two

Together we can spread more love with butter knives

Create a world filled with warm sunshines

Friends, Families, Husbands, and Wives,

We could, if only I could
