"I Understand"

I hate when people say,
“I understand.”
When they don’t.
Sometimes, when I hear that phrase,
I just want to scream:
You don’t know me!
You don’t know what I’ve been through!
You don’t know what I’ve done!
You don’t know how far I took it!
You can’t see my point of view!
You don’t know how guilty I felt!
You don’t know what I tell myself!
You don’t know what goes on in my mind!
You don’t know how hard it is to fight it!
You don’t know how I feel!
You don’t know what I tell myself!
You don’t know all of the pain I feel!
You don’t know how ashamed I am!
You don’t know!
How dare you say you understand when you don’t know!
For how can you understand,
When you don’t know.
So please,
Don’t say...
“I understand.”
