I Stand With You

Tue, 11/22/2016 - 00:06 -- Shelene

Standing Rock, so brave and free.

It seems the rest of the world, they don't see, the police aren't here to protect you and me.

My presence may not be felt there, but my mind travels far.

I often close my eyes and imagine how many of you there are.

I can see it all, I can see the pain.

I can see the heart in this land, I can see the Native reign.

We offer nothing but peace, but if we must we will fight.

After all, isn't that our constitutional right?

The companies mock us, they laugh in their chairs.

But they don't understand how much we care.

From the dancing animals, to the waving grass, it all matters to us.

But for the wealthy kings with money in sight, it will never be enough.

They threaten with violence.

We let them know our voices can't be silenced.

So stand my brothers and sisters, and together we can conqure all.

With our hearts chained together, we shall never fall.

Some will ignore, while others are in shock.

But I can promise you, many will fight with you at Standing Rock.
