I Just Can't Wait
i will get up in the morning
and i will drag myself out of bed
slowly, slowly
i will shower and pull panties on and dress myself in decorative rags
i will put on deodorant and brush my teeth
quickly, quickly
i will run to the bus stop
i will stay in a building for 7 hours
and my feet will trickle down the hallways
my heart projecting around my head
and i will return to my home
finally, finally
but three years from now
i will rouse my sleepy self and look across my pillow
i will blend our lips together, soft pastel and pink swirls
you will blink, eyelashes tickle across my cheek
softly, softly
i just can’t wait
