I (Don't) Believe In You

Slow it down

Let my mind catch up

Something missing

My lungs squeeze helplessly

Are you even real?

So far

You are

Away from me

And away I go

Spiraling in freezing arms

I scream HELP ME

But I’m talking to ghosts

You only exist in memory

Dull rooms

Staring eyes

No one moves

I’m paralyzed

Where is the purpose that was promised me?

The only comprehended thing is surrounding

By my mind playing tricks on me

Because you’re not real when I sit in the pit

The world falls away

Existence goes astray

The darkness just weighs

So heavy

Lights out

Closed down

And hope feels a universe away
