I AM BEAUTIFUL

I AM BEAUTIFUL

How is beauty determined?

By one person or a few?

Is someone beautiful

if they have tender fingers and eyeballs too?

Should I walk around

claiming I am lovely,

when another may think,

"she's honestly quite ugly"?

Shall I live my whole life

BEGGING for two eyes,

just to rake upon my body

and feed me some lies?

May I FEEL beautiful

for having dark hair,

is this considered conceded-

or is it too fair?

How does one know what is beautiful?

is there a pamphlet, a book?

If I am deemed as "okay",

do I beg my namer to give me another look?

We're all like and different in ways,

I am beautiful.

Trust me, it's more than a phrase.
