The House That Cannot Be Found

Location

The school bell rings

And I slip through the back door

Where no one can see.

Cold December air

And fog covers the city.

The world is dark and grey

And nothing seems the same as before.

Dusk is slowly approaching

And I begin my journey home.

Everyday I choose a new direction

While everybody else,

Takes the same route.

All that lies ahead

Is a street that used to be paved,

A flower bed that was once in bloom,

And my house

Nowhere to be seen.

Every day seems the same

Same people,

Same clothes,

Same indignity.

But the truth is,

They dont know my story.

They dont know what I've been through.

They dont care.

Cold and lonely,

I walk home

To the house

That cannot be found.
