Sometimes, when I am lucky,

I can get away long enough to see the stars.

Far from the noise, from

broken memories and fear of "never enough."

To a wide open space where the news cannot reach.

A place without alerts or screams of injustices that

make my stomach turn.

Sometimes, when I am lucky,

I get to see the stars.

Unobscured by man and all his dust.

Just light, reminding me that in this

grand scheme of things, I am nothing.

To be nothing can be everything.

Millions came before me, millions will come after.

We will all look upon the same stars with the same wonder.

The stars will never leave.

The stars will never forget.

The stars will listen.
