His & Her

I see goodbye in your eyes,

I see broken hearts and lies.

When nobody ever believed you could fly,

began to believe life was to die.

And as the clouds rolled into the dark night,

And like the lightning strikes so bright

capturing the eyes of everyone in sight,

you stepped up to own your life

promising not to be misery's wife.

You saw goodbye in my eyes

and uncovered a broken heart from lies.

They never wanted to let me fly

and so all I wanted was to die.

I ran away in the clouds of a stormy night

and you saw something worth the fight.

You knew in the end, everything would be alright.

So there we stood, our future in sight.

Just as you'll someday take me as your wife,

You stepped in to change life.
