High

I wake in the morning,
And the first thing I do
Is start to get high
To not think about you.
I take a long puff
To forget about your sorrow.
Take another one in
To forget about tomorrow.
I take a deep drag
To send your tears away.
I can't bear to see them
On this would-be fine day.
I breathe it in deep
And blow out the cloud.
I hope to forget
The way you were proud.
The man that I love
Has fallen so far,
I have to get high
To forget who you are.
