He walks at home
in the streets alone
a lone light Glimmers
as his day starts to fade
a satchel for his car
and a lighter for his fuel
he drifts off into another star evening

The man no more than six feet
his stories hold more length than he
stories of the road
the rebels
the rum
all that now leads
to his body forever numb

the sidewalk he says
is his closest friend
it will hold him up when he stands
and lets him rest his weary hands

He doesn't need much
not a job
not a hand
not a touch
but this man indeed needs
people of Kindness
instead of a crutch

The hopes for a future
or another day to pass by
where life moves his way
and never leaves him dry

The man will move on though
never seeing the day
still looking for what he loves
but that love will never come his way.
