It is times like this when men we see,
Our fragile broken destinies.
When through false strength and proud façade,
Appears the pea beneath the pod.
It’s times like these as men we know,
We are not strong alone to mow.
When after all that we have done,
The battle still it is not won.
As backs of strength and legs of might,
Are brought to knees at start of fight.
As power leaves and friends desert,
And ashes fall in reign of hurt.
We are not always big enough,
To bear every man’s troubles.
Nor are we of steel as tough,
To stand amidst the rubble.
We cannot always stand as tall,
If no one stands behind.
But when your world begins to fall,
It is not fear that you will find.
