In Haste

Location

Another year has gone, I

Had thought it only started.

Everything is whirling by;

So fast it has departed.

When did time begin to speed

Up? I couldn’t tell you

Even if it were a need,

But I don’t think it’s new.

When did it begin? Maybe

It always was accelerating.

A better question would be:

When were times slow to take wing?

Life is passing me by so fast

That I never got to know it.

Some things I’d like to last

Awhile, but it runs as I sit.

Years go by in single days,

Life has become a bore in just

So many different kinds of ways;

So quickly the world turns to dust.
