The girl that you all know is no longer here,

And while I have your attention, let me make one thing perfectly clear.

That the girl who was once cared too much is long gone,

Because she was tired of playing your game, only to end up always being a pawn.

A pawn in making sure that everyone else got what they were dreaming of,

While she was the one who was willing to give her heart, but was always struggling with love.

Only to be there for everyone else while they all took advantage,

Because being overly nice ended up becoming something that was too much for her to manage.

Being there for everyone else, while everyone else left her there to die,

And she sat there trying to figure out why life was always passing her by.

Because she kept putting the key of her happiness in everyone else’s pocket,

But she should have known the whole time that she was the one holding the key to her locket.

The one that she could choose to open at any given time,

But this whole time she thought that it was going to be too difficult to find.

Because anytime she was doing good, she let someone bring her down,

And she would always be the one to have to pick herself up off the ground.

While everyone left her there to pick up the pieces alone,

Because she never would have let anyone in, if the pain was something that she had previously 

known. 

That this was just going to happen over and over again,

That she kept getting betrayed by people that she once thought were her friends.

As much as it sucks to say, she is no longer going to let anyone in,

Because she is tired of reliving the way that things have always been.

Unfortunately, she has no one to thank when she makes it,

Because she is the only one who reminded herself to never quit.

To keep going for what she wanted, even when it felt like she wouldn’t be able to cope,

Because she believed in herself, and never lost that little bit of hope.

That one day, she would make it out on top,

Even when everyone else around her was telling her to stop.

This time she is going after what she wants, with no one by her side,

Because she knows that she does not need anyone else to join her on this ride.
