Going out separate ways

Going Our Separate Ways

My eyes begin to water

As I crave your warm embrace

Missing you is like a deadly sin

It breaks my heart

Again and again

I sort of remember when

Life was simple

You were my friend

No hard feelings

No confusing truths

I want to go home

Back to a time when it was just

You, me, and the telephone

When there wasn’t love

Or at least that we understood

When there wasn’t pain or fear

When we could

And now that doesn’t matter

Things have changed

We have changed

Your now too far away

Both of our hearts have strayed

To far to find

To far to fix

It seems like this is it

This is where the road ends

I lay here teary eyed again

Wishing you could hold me

Until I say when.
