Forever

If I had the ability to draw,

I would take a paintbrush and capture it all.

The emerald clovers in the valleys of your eyes,

Rimmed with the ocean, fused with the skies.

The never ending smile I wish to capture forever.

Sweet, and so truthful, as light as a feather.

How your eyes squint a little when you quietly laugh.

A portrait of you, what could be better than that?

But no amount of paint strokes could capture your heart.

Which is why poetry is my favorite form of art.

When it comes down to the truth, beauty will fade,

In this poem my vision of you will never abate.

You, along with this poem, shall always be a beautiful part,

Of the constant beating of my blushing heart.
