I still cannot remember
Falling so deep into a puddle of dirty, blinding mud.
Memories glimpse through my aching mind,
Memories that so desperately want to be refreshed.
I still cannot remember
The three months that I had died.
11 lives, two taken.
Consumed by insomnia and fear
Manic, in a panic
A walking, talking zombie fiending for a cure.
I still cannot remember
The dry, wholesome feeling of feeling real.
Every now and then
A quick behavior brings me back
Brings me so close to the taste and bittersweet heartache
Of remembering.
