Like lights in the sky,
My future glows:
Brighter and brighter,
A lantern coming ever closer.
The days go by
Like flickering flames,
Changing direction
As the wind blows.
I don’t give much thought
To the rest of my life.
I wait for surprise
Like red, burning coals.
The end can come soon
Like the extinguished heat.
But I’ll fight ‘till I die
Like flames going awry.
