O say can you see

What our country could be?

What so proudly we hailed

Has been desperately assailed.

Founded on freedom's hope

Now we can barely cope

With racism and debt,

While immigrants face threat.

Do we honor our past?

Do our values still last?

Give proof though the fight

That we can uphold Right. 

Let us look to our heroes and choose to cling

To the Flag of the Free and hope Freedoms bring.
