The Firefighter

Rushing into the flame

Sprinting in fact

Full speed to make sure everything is intact

The sound of sirens

Blaring in the background

The way the flames dance has you spellbound

The suit becomes heavier

But the fight must carry on

As you and others stand upon

An unfortunate citizen's lawn

To save life and property is why we were hailed

As even more sirens begin to wail

For we are not the only ones assisting

Other departments have come to help risking

Life and limb

For this is what I aspire to do

To fight fires and save lives

To aid all those husbands and wives

Daughters and sons

To ensure that they are no longer

The unfortunate ones
