Every Day Magic

Myths and legends are alive and well all around us.

Apollo lives

in the steady hands of a medical surgeon

In the voice of the newest, hottest star

In the poetry book clutched between the hands of a young teen

Like it has all the answers.

Persephone lives

In the clear air that announces spring

In the blossoming bouquets of new brides

In the stubbornness of a weed growing between the cracks of the pavement

Like it has every right to be there.

Faeries live

In long hikes through the forest

In the tricky rules of social etiquette

In the harmless pranks people video for their fifteen minutes.

Witches live

In the black cats that slip through alleyways

In the complicated orders of coffee drinks

In the old books at the back of the library where the lights barely reach.

Myths and legends are alive and well all around us.

You just have to look for them.
