Electric Love
i watch the hurried world go by
a somber and sweet sight
people pass with eyes glaring down
as the sky kisses the earth
my heart sinks to the bottom of
a dark and empty world
i cannot find a friend to pass
familiar greetings to
alone and cold i find myself
with eyes heavy as stones
solace reveals itself to me
in a warm velvety smile
grey as the stones my eyes carry
soft like gentle lambkins
aware of my despondency
she keeps my empty heart warm
i've found an electric love that
courses through every vein
enticing and enveloping
my nightly winter reprieve
