Earth Exposure

The nothingness of space envelops me

As I drift amongst a sea of stars.

Cold, unfeeling, this is the space we exist in,

Blackness darker than our inner shadows.

I look to the moon behind me.

It’s more cratered than my stomach on Polish sausage.

Looking at a ball of blue and green,

A photo shutter clicks, and my eyes fill with wonder.
