Drink Me

I am the whiskey in your stomach. I wait for you to invite me inside. I sit in my place and wait for you to need me. But you only come to me when you don’t want her. Or him. Or them. You come to me when you have lost something else. But I take what I can get. As I enter your mouth and slide down into you, I make sure you feel my warmth. I want you to feel safe. I want you to take more of me. I move myself around your insides because I need to be a part of who you are. I move myself into your headspace and make you say things you’d never say without me. I want you to think of only me. I try as hard as I can to make you forget everything else. I want you to need me. Even if you forget you.
