Don't Go

If I could tell you to stay with me now,

Oh, with everything I am, were it true!

The thing I ask you to tell me is, How

to let you go when our life feels so new?

I know that this was not a big mistake.

Even though our time was full of pain,

The joy we shared, much truer than the ache,

Will be the best life I could attain.

Our lives are made of memories, you know.

I do regret the ones we did not live.

And in dream, my love for you only grows.

But this is now. This is what I can give:

My life, this poem, my love, my trust, no less.

It is not enough; you deserve the best
