Depression's Toll
At age seven, she saw she didn't belong,
she didn't look like the other girls
"It's okay", she would say,
her glow-up would be soon.
At age twelve, she tried make-up to hide the imperfections.
Maybe boys wouldn't call her ugly,
they always did though.
At age fifteen, her smile had faded, a black cloud hovered over her.
"Nobody cares", she thought,
she was ready to die.
All she saw was a disappointment in the mirror, a waste of space.
Nobody noticed, the inclination of sadness,
they thought the fake smile was true.
Nobody noticed until at age fifteen,
they put her in the ground.
