Dear School

The sun goes back down

Days turn a bit longer

Time passes much slower

Grey tinge fills the air

I'm stuck and defeated

Downthrodded and beaten

Torn and split on emotions

Don't know what to feel

On one hand your heaven

The bringer of joy

My first kiss was here

My first love was here

My friends and my future

 All formed right here

On the other hand your hell

My poor unlucky single mother

Coming beaten and abused

Traveled here through the mountains

Will I rise above in life to show her I love her

Or fail, taking in vain all love's put her through

So many expectations

So many deadlines and stress

So many limitations which I must overcome

I'm a high school student

Not "average" nor genuis

But rather in between

Competing for my college

My degree, my future and mama's proud eyes

On the day where my efforts

Turn into a thin fragile sheet of paper

Welcome back school

Welcome back hell

Welcome back hope
