Dear

I look up at the sky at night and some times there are stars

Did you know they actually twinkle?

Like bright eyes winking down

sharing in our lives

I look up at the sky at night and some times there are stars

I pick out the one that beams down loudest and sing out my only wish

"Let him be happy."

Then I look away and smile to myself.

I feel silly but the wish is always the same.

Some times I make wishes to the moon

Silver hanging where the sun belongs

Pocked with craters the size of pinholes

I sing my only wish

I look away and smile to myself.

I feel silly but the wish is always the same.

I figure, "You're under the same sky. Why shouldn't I wish to the stars?"
