I don't understand
This violence
It sickens me
To be cruel is so easy
Yet to be kind is so difficult.
I find this hard to believe.
Although to look on the outside
To believe, is so difficult.
To believe in this love;
To believe in this beauty tarnished by our touch.

It tears me up to see our cruelty
That we can't seem to realize we are all humans.
That it is our differences that make us unique.
A life without that
Is like life without the sun and the moon,
Or even the colors that make paintings.
It is these differences in all of us
That makes everything worth living.
Yet it makes no sense to me
That we treat each others differences the way we do.

What makes one so better
That we can treat each other the way we do
The philosophy "To treat others how you want to be treated"
I grew up knowing this.
Yet, the concept, I have found
Doesn't always seem to exist.

I don't understand
This violence
This disrespect
This life
I'm not trying to say I know it all
That I am so great.
The truth is I'm no different from any of the human race.
I just feel that it's crazy
Crazy that everyone thinks the way they do
That it is so hard to be respectful or do the right thing..

The right thing..

It takes a decent human to call for help when there's trouble
But it takes a real human to try to stop it on their own.

Over the years we come to change
Adapting to the fact that money makes "the world go around"
We have become lazy
And not in just one way.
It makes my heart weep for how great we could be.
Why do we have to hurt each other for not being the same.
But aren't we the same?
I don't understand..
Why we can't be the same.
