Crashing Shooting Star, Devastation on Impact

It is the highest expectations that have the furthest to fall,

                        Tumbling

                                 Flailing

                                                   Wailing

                                                            (crashing).

As they go down,

(shooting star)

Bright across the dim

Unlit expanse of your experience,

Burning ferociously,

Ravaging your soul,

Reaching out for purchase

To slow their descent

(sailing)

Finding hold in you,

Powerful hands clutching

(sinking)

Deafening defeat drowning,

A symphony cascading

(suffocating)

Disappoint stifles trust

(strangling).

And thus, tumbling down,

 Flailing, maiming one another,

           Wailing, lamenting your innocence,

                         Crashing, devastation on impact.

Falling from a height

Such as that born from misplaced respect

Is always fatal.
