Christopher's Sonnet
A song plays in my ear singing sweet notes
His lips part releasing a soft sweet hum
Callused hands strum chords which appear to float
And my heart harmonizes along with them
The song he plays causes my soul to sing
As though my heart were his own metronome
I sigh, the notes melting in summer heat
Ringing as if they were a telephone
Then my eyelids flutter ajar sadly
I remember that he is not with me
The music fades away, I sigh loudly,
Beside me is only my mug of tea
And oh, my goodness, how I do miss him
But tomorrow’s light will bring him again
A song plays in my ear singing sweet notes
Lovingly played just a little bit
Callused hands play chords which appear to float
And my heart sings loudly along with it
The song he plays causes my heart to beat
As though my heart were his own metronome
I sigh, the notes melting in summer heat
Ringing as if they were a telephone
Then my eyes flutter ajar sadly
I remember that he is not with me
The music fades away I sigh loudly
Beside me is only my mug of tea
And oh my goodness how I do miss him
But tomorrow’s light will bring him again
