Can We Just Go Back

Mon, 03/13/2017 - 15:47 -- KelseyJ

What we were then is not what we are now

For changes were made, that were good and bad.

What I don’t understand is exactly how

We will get back to the good that we once had

Granted in time, racism has decreased

And lessons were learned from those deceased

But oh can we just go back, at least,

To the morals of our past

Oh, can we just go back

To the time where wrong was wrong

To the time where justice was served

It didn’t matter how long

Oh, can we just go back

To the time when all the children

Were raised by their own parents

And not by the government therin

Oh can we just go back

To the pure forms of entertainment

Where families could sit together

And watch those who were famous

Oh can we just go back

To a time where distractions were few

And families spent time together

Doing the usual, or something new

Oh can we just go back

To a time where trust was ample given

To a time where people knew the truth

And many believed in the God of Heaven

Oh can we just go back, and they say:

“But what about the rest

Those past bad grades of America…

Will we ever pass those tests?”
