You punch, I scratch, you kick, I scream.
Why does this always happen to me?
They watch, they laugh, and they join in on the fun.
They sit and watch, they say it’s all just for fun.
They say no one gets hurt, that we’re all just friends.
Then why am I always in pain in the end?
The jokes turn to rumors that they swore were true.
My peers look down like there’s nothing they can do.
It’s always “Kids will be kids”
Or “They’re just having fun”
But is my life really that much fun?
The cuts, the pills, and the suicide attempts
It isn’t funny when I finally die from an attempt.
But it is funny, right?
The punches, the scratches, the kicks, and the screams.
Even the shoving in my locker.
It’s all just for fun, you see?
But I wonder…
How funny will it be with my dad’s 50 caliber revolver?
Will they still be laughing?
Probably.
Remember, it always starts with a push, a joke, or shove.
It never starts with their love.
